Hanwell is in the centre of the borough bridging Southall and Ealing Metropolitan Town Centre along the Uxbridge Road.

Voted by the Sunday Times one of the top places to live, Hanwell comprises a wealth of historical assets including Hanwell Community Centre, the Hermitage, St Mary’s Church, and Brunel’s Wharncliffe Viaduct. The distinctive ‘village’ like character is much loved locally with parks and open spaces in Brent Valley at its doorstep.

The town has a unique and independent spirit and is now better connected than ever with the new Elizabeth line station. The town centre offers a range of food, retail, and leisure amenities and has a strong independent business base.

The Hanwell community hosts the annual Hanwell Hootie – one of London’s most popular and biggest one day music festivals. The festival is testament to the strong and loyal community and business base that have supported the event since it was launched more than a decade ago.

The focus will be on any new development being residential led and contributing to improving local active travel opportunities so residential neighbourhoods can have better access to Hanwell town centre, Brent Valley Park, and local community facilities

Industrial land to the south of Hanwell provides valuable local jobs and intensification of industrial uses in this area would increase much needed local employment.
