Following Ealing’s successful Summer Streets bid, North Acton Square will host an exciting programme of events and activities throughout summer 2026, transforming the square into a vibrant destination for culture, food, sport and community activity.
The project has attracted significant additional investment since the original funding award – what started as a £20,000 programme has grown into a £55,000 placemaking initiative, thanks to funding from the GLA Summer Streets programme, North Acton BID and other contributions.
The expanded programme will include:
- Outdoor screenings of Wimbledon and FIFA World Cup matches
- Family-friendly film screenings
- Food and craft markets showcasing local businesses
- Live music, DJs and cultural performances
- Community dining and social events
- Activities highlighting the food, creative and independent businesses based in North Acton and Park Royal
We are currently working on the programming, a major feature of the programme will be a series of outdoor screenings in North Acton Square, including:
- 3 July – Australia v Egypt (7pm)
- 4 July – Canada v Morocco (6pm)
- 6 July – Round of 16 Match (8pm)
- 7 July – Round of 16 Match (5pm)
- 9 July – Quarter Final (9pm)
- 10 July – Quarter Final (8pm)
- 14 July – Semi Final (8pm)
- 15 July – Semi Final (8pm)
- 19 July – Final (8pm)
A particular focus of the programme will be helping residents, students and workers discover the many food, creative and manufacturing businesses operating within Park Royal and North Acton, many of which are hidden away in industrial and workspace locations despite being on the community’s doorstep.
The programme supports wider regeneration objectives by increasing footfall, supporting local businesses, activating public space and strengthening community connections in one of London’s fastest-growing neighbourhoods.
The Summer Streets funding has acted as a catalyst for partnership working and additional investment, allowing the programme to significantly exceed the scale and outputs originally proposed.
Further details, including film screenings, markets and cultural events, will be announced over the coming weeks.
